On March 18th, Minister of Agriculture Armands Krauze met with Pipa Hackett, Minister of State for Land Use and Biodiversity in the Department of Agriculture, Food, and the Marine of Ireland. The discussion centered on ensuring that European Union environmental and climate regulations are appropriately balanced, avoiding the imposition of burdensome obligations on farmers and foresters while also facilitating continued economic growth. The ministers agree that EU requirements must be adequate, avoiding the imposition of unattainable demands on farmers and foresters and ensuring that agricultural productivity and development are not hindered.
