Ministrs un Kazahstanas vēstnieks

On Wednesday, March 5, Minister of Agriculture Armands Krauze met with Dauren Karipov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Latvia, to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation in agriculture and the food industry.

The discussions centered on strengthening trade relations in food products, exploring opportunities for collaboration in food safety, certification, funding administration, and fostering ties between educational and scientific institutions.

Ambassador Karipov expressed Kazakhstan's interest in Latvia's forestry sector and highlighted the potential for expanding cooperation in both plant growing and wood processing.

Minister Krauze thanked the Ambassador for the invitation to visit Kazakhstan and discussed preparations for the upcoming trip. The Minister is set to attend “KazAgro 2025”, Central Asia’s largest agricultural exhibition, as part of the visit.

Both officials reaffirmed their commitment to advancing bilateral cooperation, with a focus on expanding trade and pursuing joint projects in the agricultural sector.
