On Thursday, March 27th, Minister of Agriculture Armands Krauze met with the Chargé d'Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Latvia, Song Danhui, to discuss bilateral cooperation opportunities in agriculture, food production, and forestry.

During the meeting, both parties discussed the necessary preparations for export development, including ways to enhance cooperation between the competent authorities of both countries and the process of obtaining export certificates. Minister Armands Krauze expressed confidence that Latvian companies are capable of providing products that meet China’s requirements, making China a potential key export market for Latvian businesses. During the meeting, cooperation in the forestry sector was also discussed, with the Chinese representative appreciating Latvia's successful forest management model. Therefore, this sector also has great potential for collaboration.

The officials agreed to continue working on developing multifaceted cooperation in sectors under the Ministry of Agriculture’s jurisdiction.
