Zemkopības ministrs Armands Krauze un Izraēlas vēstniece Latvijā Sandra Simoviča

On Wednesday, January 8th, the Minister of Agriculture Armands Krauze met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel to Latvia Sandra Simovich to discuss potential cooperation between Latvia and Israel.

The Minister of Agriculture and the Ambassador discussed the existing cooperation between Latvia and Israel in the food and agriculture sectors and potential opportunities for expanding this collaboration. The minister also shared Latvia's experience in strengthening food security, which is one of the main priorities for the Ministry of Agriculture in 2025.

Both parties agreed that there is significant potential for strengthening cooperation, particularly in the fields of innovation, education, research, forestry, and food safety and quality.

In the first nine months of 2024, Latvia's exports to Israel exceeded imports. The main exports included fish products, non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, and dairy products.
